If you live or own a business in Tennessee, you may qualify for federal tax relief due to the recent severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that began on April 2, 2025.
When's the new deadline?
The new deadline to file and pay federal taxes is now November 3, 2025.
What does the extension includes?
✅ 2024 income tax returns and payments (originally due April 15)
✅ IRA and HSA contributions for 2024
✅ Estimated tax payments due April 15, June 16, and Sept. 15
✅ Quarterly payroll & excise tax returns due April 30, July 31 & Oct. 31
✅ Corporate, fiduciary, and nonprofit filings due in April/May
How do I become eligible?
No need to call the IRS — relief is automatic if your IRS address is in the disaster area (all 95 TN counties qualify). But if you’ve moved recently or your records are in the affected area, call the IRS Disaster Hotline: 866-562-5227 to update your info and get help.
Claiming Disaster Losses?
You can choose to deduct losses on your 2024 or 2025 return — just write FEMA #3625-EM on your return.
